I have decided to blog. This past few years have been such a whirlwind of change, hope, despair, confusion, and for the most part I have been the lone historian. An old friend today encouraged me to "reach out", and in the swirling midst of an often chaotic, busy, and yet sometimes lonely life, this is my step forward.
Reconnection, revitalization, revolution, redemption, and re-writing. It begins now.

bravo. I have missed your voice. When you were sending stuff from Nepal, et al, I was sure you were among my favorite writers. This is a good place to let it rip. I have been trying to up the level of discourse on facebook, conning myself into believing it's worth doing because because it is at least in theory, a two-way street - web2.0 - and not just preaching to the choir on a rented soapbox (web1.0) but most of the time I really feel like it is a losing battle.
Thank you Joe. Facebook is often like a drive-by shooting of words, kind of random, often messy, usually pointless. This feels good. Scary in that it's been soooo long since I have written anything other than a patient report, but good.
